This last weekend was finally held at Ribadesella the Asturias Championship of Cross-Canoe, which was postponed last February due to a storm. Weather was not actually good again at this time, but at least the race could take place normally.

After the usual start running from the far end of the beach, the first to hit the water on their kayaks were eventually those who would claim victory, in this case Luis Amado Pérez and Miguel Llorens (SCD Ribadesella) in K2 and Emilio Llamedo (Los Rápidos - Jayre Aventura) in K1, who together led both laps to the course with two portages included again on the beach.

Behind it was formed a group trying to keep their chances of winning the race, but after some kilometers it got celar that it was going to be difficult. This group consisted mostly of Oviedo Kayak paddlers, including the K1s of Álvaro F. Fiuza and Borja Estomba, who were second and third in that order at the finish line. It was also there the K2 of Rafael Carril and Roberto González, side by side with the junior winners Jonathan Garcia and Diego Martinez (Los Rápidos - Jayre Aventura). The seniors K2 podium was completed in third place by José Manuel Obaya and Santiago Toraño (Piragüismo Maliayo).
